We really enjoyed our visit to the Wichita Art Museum. We decided to go to see the Chihuly glass floor. It's beautiful! And it was fun to walk on the top of it. The Preston Singletary exhibit was another highlight. I love Native American art and his Raven in a Box exhibit was spectacular. The museum isn't large but has a nice collection of American art including paintings, woodblock prints, glass and dresses.

I appreciate the lengths Witchita has gone through to bring culture into their community. This is a small museum with a few choice pieces from artists one might recognize (Mary Cassat, Edward Hopper, Chiluly), and many pieces from local artists, or pieces on loan to the museum for a visiting exhibition. It is FREE to attend regular exhibits and $12 for special exhibits. NOTE: Museum is closed Mon and Tues.

The Chihuly glass was delightful, and the special exhibit of Art Deco was excellent! The permanent collection was just so-so, but fine. We had lunch here at the Muse Café, and it was hopping! It seems that locals come here just for lunch (i.e., not as part of visiting the museum). Not much for our vegans to eat except for a red hummus plate with veggies and pita, but that was fine. Sometimes a small art museum is nice because it’s not overwhelming; with that said, I wouldn’t come back unless there was a particularly interesting special exhibit.

This is a classy place and we were surprised it was so empty on a Sunday when many other attractions were closed.
The new Pop Art is great, Warhols, Rauschenberg, Lichtenstein.
It was mainly US art, going back to the 19th century.
There were even a couple of Hoppers.
Vast well-spaced galleries with places to sit and contemplate, which isn’t always the case in more snooty museums.
There was a special glass exhibition by Beth Lipman and it was exhilarating.

Very nice and well organized museum featuring some very good American artists. The exhibits flow nicely and the art is not just all jammed together. The Steuben glass exhibit is really nice as is the collection of pre-Colombian pottery. If you go on Saturday, there is no charge for admission to the permanent exhibits!

Saturdays are FREE!!!! What a great place to visit on a rainy Saturday!!! The family area is an amazing arts and craft area for the children's minds to run free and create whatever they want. And the grown up displays of art were AMAZING my favorite was the glass chandelier and the see through glass floor. WE also visited several years ago when they had a Charles Schultz and Peanuts exhibit! I loved learning about the man who created the cartoon I grew up with!!!

I enjoyed walking around and looking at the different kinds of art. I would have liked more variety of art forms, but it was still nice. Very clean and nice inside. The staff was very friendly. There is plenty of parking in a convenient location, and admission is free.

We really enjoyed our visit to this art museum, very peaceful and beautiful. Admission is free (except for special exhibits) making it an easy way to experience art or introduce art to others. We wandered quietly at our own pace through the variety of galleries. The photography exhibit of Signs was evocative and fun. We enjoyed the Kaneko sculpture outside the entrance, the Chihuly glass confetti chandelier, the amazing Confluence moving sculpture, and the variety of paintings. Very enjoyable way to spend an afternoon.

Main gallery on 2nd floor is interesting with varied collection. Highlight for me are the 2 Hoppers, as I am a fan. Even otherwise, many interesting pieces. Did not see the special exhibit (Native Americans in glass or something) Impressive building. Ground floor contemporary was a little weak IMOP. Basement is grandma's attic - at the moment a large display of women's fashion through the year (more interesting than it sounds), some glass, silver and ancient artifacts - in all probably better than the contemporary section. It a nice spot to spend a couple of hours; they have a cafe and a charging station. I'd certain send people here and Friday has extended hours.

Wow, surprisingly well curated museum. Irving Penn was being exhibited when we visited Wichita for Christmas. Lots of Edward Hooper, American and artist. Beautiful building in museum row near Riverside Park and close to downtown Wichita. Great family outing. I’ve never been here and will come back.
I wish they would provide outreach to people of color because as a kid growing up here I wasn’t exposed to this and know there are many artistic POC in Wichita that would full appreciate it.
