Beautiful park with many miles of walking/biking paths. Nice lake that appears to be a nice fishing spot as well.

I have only ever used the horse park at Heritage Park so can't comment on the rest, but I am very happy that the horse park is available here to people in the Kansas City area.
We have visited this park on many weekends. There are a variety of fences and jumps available creating a nice cross country course.
It's a large space and the grass is mostly maintained to create nice paths for the horses.
One thing is that there are no restrooms near the entrance meaning if a port-a-potty isn't rented you have to walk or drive pretty far to get the rest rooms.
When it's really hot there isn't much shade either. And we've often found ticks on ourselves after going there, even wearing insect repellent. But it's nice to be outdoors on a horse.

I have used many of this great park's amenities. I have run/walked on many of the trails, played disc golf, and taken my dogs to the dog park. First of all it is a very safe place to go for a run or walk. There are miles of trails to be on and enjoy the area. The large lake in the center and surrounding woods is home to a menagerie of wildlife. I saw turkeys at the disc golf course this a.m. Speaking of disc golf, the course is challenging enough for some advanced players but forgiving enough for beginners. I can't speak to the sports fields as I have not used them. However, they seem to in good shape and regularly used by the community. I do go to the 30 acre dog park quite regularly. My dogs love the large area to run around in a a small pond in the center to swim in. Overall a great place to spend a day.

Heritage Park is a large and well-kept park, complete with lake, off-leash dog park, playgrounds, ball fields, golf course, barbecue shelters, trails for running and biking, and grassy areas. I went there to go running, and got a great 6-mile run in. There weren't all that many people there, surprisingly, but I found it to be a hidden gem.

Easy walking trail around the lake and a lovely little peninsula to boot. There is also an outdoor "gym" area available and plenty of benches to just sit and take in the suroundings.

We stumbled across this park when the botanical gardens were closed. And what a blessing. This park is amazing. Beautiful and quiet. Lots of scenery. The pavilions are well maintained. And the water features are gorgeous.

It's huge! Full of nice grass, nice people and dogs, even an area of water for the dogs to cool off in. Our three Whippets had a great time. You can walk around the parameter and it's got to be a good mile walk, or just let the dogs run loose and play. Bathroom facilities too. Awesome!

Bike-riding around the lake or contemplating/fishing by the lake. Playgrounds and picnic areas. Fenced-in dog park with a perimeter walking path, plus restroom facilities! Excellent location in southern Olathe. Well-kept and safe - monitored by park police. Fun, relaxing place to be by yourself or with family and friends.

We are very fortunate to live next to Heritage Park so we get to walk these trails all the time. We see all sorts of wild life, bald eagles, hawks, owls, bats, foxes, coyotes, deer and waterfowl. There are miles of walking trials, a lake and ponds, playgrounds, picnic shelters, golf course, football fields, soccer fields, baseball fields, 30 acre off leash dog park, disc golf course, and tons of green space. The park is over 1200 acres!
