It's kinda in the middle of nowhere, travel down several miles of gravel roads to get there, but they are in good shape. I would advise anyone who is in the area to go see them. According to scientists, a moderate earthquake or even a...More

These amazing rock formations are well worth the drive from I-70 or Oakley to get there. Not like it's crowded, either.

While I wouldn't call these rocks monumental (I guess they are for Kansas) I do think this is an interesting geological formation worth checking out. My wife and I enjoyed driving through some back country roads to get there and then parking and walking around...More

Found this beautiful place and was well worth the trip down the dirt road. The weather was perfect and it's something that wasn't in our bucket list but should be. Check it out if you have time

Drive 40 minutes from Oakley, Kansas to the first natural national monument,Monument Rocks. These dynamic limestone buttes are on private land in a cow pasture, so please don't disturb these gentle guards. The rancher has done everyone a favor by allowing travelers to drive here....More

If you happen to be driving through the cornfields of western Kansas, this place is worth a stop. A series of large chalk formations, they look very impressive against the otherwise flat landscape. It is easier to reach them from Oakley, off the I-70. We...More

Traveling through Kansas on I70 and thought we would take in a few sights on our route across the state, trying not to stray too far off I70. This attraction was a little further than we wanted to travel (about 60 miles down and back)....More

We had seen a little information on this so decided to drive a little extra to find it. It is on a gravel road about 40 minutes off the interstate (less than 10 of those minutes are on gravel). It is a relatively small area...More

A nice place to get away from the noise of the city and let the kids explore and run off some energy!

A huge thank you to this property owner. This was an amazing sight. After a 7 mile drive down a gravel road, and through some cows, we finally reached our destination. It was an amazing sight to see. You can see every layer and every...More

We spent roughly one hour there. We were there near sun down and it was neat to see the swallows come out of the holes in the canyon walls to head out to eat. Lots of photo ops.

We came down 83 from Oakley, and there are two ways to get there which are both dirt roads. One turns off towards the east and comes in from the north to the monuments and one comes in from the south. We came in from the... More
