This is a great little museum but more importantly they have access to Swedish parish records and the personnel to help you find family connections. Everyone is so friendly. Across the street is Heritage Square with many buildings to look through.

You've got to see this restored Mill that originally was a water powered Grist Mill but later was updated to run off electric power. Many people in Denver enjoyed bread made from the grain ground here. It has been beautifully restored and you can climb around in it to explore all the mechanisms and belts that operated it. Note: this... More

This small museum is well done for its size.the movie is a good overview, the exhibits tell the difficulties of coming to America by ship in the 1800s, and then the flour mill tour! Pretty spectacular! The posters are old and faded, but are very informative. I took a picture with my phone for reading later. First weeks in May... More

I wasn't expecting much when we visited the Old Mill Museum in Lindsborg. I was pleasantly surprised! There is a small charge of $2 per person. The museum is self-guided and includes a short video, small museum, the Smokey Valley Roller Mill and a replica old town. The roller mill is four stories tall and the inner workings are extremely... If you go during the summer its running. They don't mill anything but its super cool to see a giant wooden machine working.

This unique museum has exhibits showing the life of the Swedish pioneers who settled here. For those seeking to learn more about their Swedish ancestors who settled in McPherson County this museum has many resources with skilled researchers who can assist. The Old Mill is fascinating, especially during working demonstrations, usually held early in May.

Interesting history of the immigration of swedes and mennonites to this area - and the mill is kinda cool, but a bit musty smelling, and hard to figure out whats-what. At least it was only s $2 entrance fee - and the lady did mention there was a video - which might have made it all make a bit more... More

I attended a Swedish genealogy conference in March and part of our registration offered free access to the museum ... which otherwise I think is only $2.00. The first building houses exhibits from the region, exploring the flora/fauna of the region, the earliest settlers and some of their artifacts. A second room related solely to the immigrant experience. The north... More

This place is really neat. The old flour mill is very impressive. My favorite time to visit is during Millfest when they actually have it running. A guided tour during this time is also an earful.

We visited the museum, mill, and recreated Swedish village. The museum has quite a few immigration stories that bring the past to life. The mill is in good condition and very well-maintained. The children probably enjoyed the village more than anything else. If in Lindsborg, a stop at this museum is a must!
