This park is very close to where I live so I walk there on a regular basis. It’s always fun to see the kids playing on the swings . There is a ramp for small fishing boats and there are always people fishing from the banks also. There is also a shelter for celebrations and parties .

Beautiful lake, spillway and hiking trail. Lots to do and see. Play area for the kids. Hiking around the lake for adults. Fishing and wild life of many types. Trails connect to nearby residential areas. If you have not been here with your family, go!

My husband and I moved to Lenexa 3.5 years ago and it sadly took us 3 years to find the beautiful place. We now visit several times a month. We even learned that there is a bike path that leads from our house to the lake. This place is beautiful during all seasons. I would highly recommend visiting for a walk, run, or bike trip.

Not much there yet. People fishing, so that is probably good for them. Bought lemonade and ice cream from the neighboring house/kids front yard stand. They had a lot of customers on the hot day I was there. Drove up to with parking lot, but could not really drive around the lake. Had my 95 year old mom with me in wheelchair, staying in car.

We took our 3 granddaughters, 10, 3 and 2, to Black Hoof Park with 2 of their 4 parents, and it was a hit! There are several playground areas close to each other and the girls were wildly loud and ecstatic as their dad/uncle chased them around the equipment. We also did some walking along the lake. Lovely park!

Much to do and see. Play areas for the kids. Hiking around the lake for adults. Fishing - with a license - wild life of many types. Trails connect to nearby residential areas. If you have not been here with your family, shame on you. Get outside next Spring.

This is another gem of a park in the Lenexa Parks System. I drive to Black Hoof and walk the trails at least once a week. I how the park changes with the seasons. Every visit is a new experience.

The trail is a three mile loop and you can park, walk and arrive back at your car without backtracking. The trail is partially paved and partially gravel and generally flat with a couple of small inclines.

I see many canoeists, kayakers, and paddle boarders use the lake - since the lake is somewhat sheltered from the wind, you seldom see waves on the lake. There is a small boat ramp.

There is a play area for the kiddies and picnic area, including a couple of shelters.

Be sure to visit the spillway during your visit!
