The C.W. Parker Carousel Museum is a wonderful stop for the ENTIRE family....

The C.W. Parker Carousel Museum is a wonderful stop for the ENTIRE family. With 4 antique carousels, and a hand-carved, wood, carousel from 1913 that ALL who come can ride, it is a memorable museum. You can take a Guided Tour, a Virtual Guided Tour (utilizing QR codes), or just ride the fast, fun carousel. All tours include a short video and a carousel ride. An adult guided tour is only $6.00. Carousel rides are $1.50 and get cheaper the more you purchase. There is also a quaint, little gift shop, with many carousel items and much, much more. Whether you are 1 or 101 years old, a ride on the carousel is something special.

I've been here a few times with my one year old son. He loves to ride the carousel, which moves pretty fast. There are a few exhibits inside as well as a little shop if you want to get a little something.

When your son gets a little older, explore the museum upstairs, it has hundreds of artifacts from the Parker era. He might also like to go out on the balcony overlooking the carousel and watch it operate from there. You can see all the gears turning, and the crankshafts raising and lowering the horses. More

We took our grandchildren to ride the carousel and they loved it! The related exhibits are interesting and informational. We have also taken our grandchildren to the "Small Mall", a Christmas shopping experience and fundraiser for the museum. Kids have a great time selecting low cost, secret presents for friends and family. The Carousel Museum is a great part of... More

I have to warn all parents, that is literally the fastest carousel I have ever been on. My husband and I ended up riding on the horses with our children to prevent them from flying off and to stop ourselves from getting sick. But it was awesome! The kids loved it and there is so much history in the building.... More

If you live in the Leavenworth area you have to visit this Carousel Museum. My kids love the place. The carousel is old school and in excellent working condition. The people that work there are very nice. This is not your carni carousel, this thing moves out so hang on, my kids love how fast the ride moves

Just awesome. A most enjoyable afternoon and well worth the drive from Kansas City. Beautiful collection and what a bargain. $6 for guided tour & carousel ride.

I was visiting the KC area on family business and my Sunday afternoon visit to the C.W. Parker Carousel Museum proved to be the highlight of my trip. From the charming video presented to tour-goers to the dizzying spin on one of the fastest carousels I have ever ridden, it was a memorable visit to my childhood. The local curators... More

We did not know this museum even existed. We were just driving around and happened upon it. Not only is the historical aspect of the carousel prominent, but the displays are nothing short of terrific. One can even ride carousels. The museum is beautifully maintained. The gift shop is truly wonderful and it is so extensive. Don't miss this place!

We went for a birthday party and it was fun. The kids enjoyed the carousel rides but that was the best part for them. The rest of the museum is interesting but not so much for young kids. Definitely worth a look if you have the time.

We went expecting to see carousels being restored but it required a ticket for a 1 1/2 hour tour which we did not have time. We did ride a restored carousel which was fun, fastest carousel I have ever rode on and the ride lasted as long as the calliope music played from the restored carousel organ. They did have... More

I'm sorry you did not enjoy your visit to our museum more. I'm also sorry you had the impression you would see carousels actually being restored. Our museum is a tribute to C.W. Parker and his life's work. There are some horses being restored but our carvers are only there on Mondays when we are not open. We actually only... More
