This museum is free and has lots of neat stuff from the area. The workers have always been so nice and helpful and knowledgeable. The main exhibit in the front changes quarterly or so, so I like to stop in every few months and take my son.

Thoroughly enjoyed this small museum. Read about the county (Sherman), the Dust Bowl, characters from the beginning, and even see the first patented helicopter. It appears the museum is still in progress. Definitely worth the stop.

A simple little town mueseum with a lot of local history. Nice air conditioning. Good for adults. May be boring for young children.

We stopped here for a quick visit before heading down the road. It was a very small museum but had some interesting artifacts. We especially loved the helicopter.

We are staying at the KOA in Goodland and DVDs to walk into town for dinner. We noticed this play along the way and decided to stop in. Glad we did! Admission is free, but tips are welcome. Very interesting history in this Museum.

While taking an unexpected layover in Goodland, I visited the High Plains Museum. Fine collection of local artifacts and history, including the rebuilt 1910 flying machine patented by two former residents. Nice display highlighting historic Goodland architecture provided a interesting overview of small town high plains life.

Learn about local history, make the first patented helicopter spin, see a bison- Plus rotating exhibits all the time. My kids love it and I learn something with each new exhibit.

This small, well layed out museum is just off the interstate and worth the visit if you are in the area. Many interesting displays for all ages. The life sized buffalo and early flying craft top the list. Indeed, it is in the high plains; despite the warm temperature and sunny sky, it was incredibly windy outside. Fields of sunflowers... We had a little time to spend in Goodland so we stopped in to this museum. It was cool and a good place to relax as we leisurely strolled along looking at the exhibits. We enjoyed the old helicopter and old farming implements and doctor's car/buggy. A pleasant visit.
