This building is a Sioux City gem The detail of this building inside and out is stunning. The frescoes on the walls are breath taking. And the marble floors and stairs are rich.

Very "art deco" courthouse. Great architecture outside and throughout inside. Amazing work on every floor. Must pass through security to gain access.

One of the more beautiful buildings you will see anywhere. Take time to walk around the building both inside and outside. Work is currently being done on the exterior. Entrance through security is on the north side of the building. Take an hour to explore even though you could spend much more time.

I married a Sioux City young man over 50 years ago. So whenever we go I try to see the Woodbury County Courthouse. I had never seen this type of architecture and each time I go I find something different. You can see the influence of our world famous architect Frank Lloyd Wright in this early Prairie Gothic building. The... More

The Woodbury county courthouse is a neat building for an architecture buff to see - beautiful domed main area. Neat brickwork inside and out. Not much there to see for anyone else.

Although not worth going out of the way to see (unless you happen to be a felon going on trial), the interior of this building is quite beautiful. Great stained glass windows and heavily paneled walls.

The beauty of the outside of the building was matched only by how the city and county officials came together to preserve such a beautiful building.

My wife and I have been married for 31 years and I have visited her family in Sioux City several times but was very surprised a few months ago when we had to go to the Courthouse which also houses the County offices. We had to obtain a death certificate of a relative and had planned to be in and... More

A gem in the middle of Sioux City. A "Prairie School" architecture masterpiece that is still a functioning courthouse. Built in the years right after World War I, some of the murals commemorate the men and women that served and died during the conflict. A nice display of musical instruments and memorabilia from the American Legion Band, Monahan Post. Go... More

Unfriendly workers who make any interaction unpleasant. Granted, they work with A-holes all day, but you knew that when you took the job. Smile every once in a while!
