I was pleasantly surprised to visit this monument. Great piece of history right here in Sioux City. This did not involve any physical activity as the parking lot is on top of the hill right by the monument. I was the only one there when...More

My wife is a Lewis and Clark nut so while on a solo trip I stopped by. Nice monument,(his body was moved 3-4 times but is still there) and a nice view of the river and city.

Sergeant Floyd's Monument and it's history is a major part of Sioux city's afflication with the Lewis and Clark Expedition. This is an outdoor monument that you can easily drive to.

We only stopped for a short time (it was below freezing), but it is interesting that Lewis & Clark are highlighted in those places in which they camped.

We visited the Sergeant Floyd Monument to see the Vigil put on by Air Force JROTC group. Everything at the monument was very nice and in good condition, however the two lights for the US Flag were not working.

The obelisk is pretty impressive but not so much as the view from the location. Handicap parking is quite close and wheelchair accessible,
