So Christmastime may not be the ideal time to visit but the park has great trails. No amenities were open but the trails are well marked and easy to hike. This is a great place to stretch your legs while in Estherville.

I love going hiking here. It feels like you are not in Iowa anymore but instead in Wisconsin in a dense forest. I just went the other day though and some of the trails were getting a little bit over-grown. Long pants would have solved...More

This wooded park right on the outskirts of Estherville is a bit of a oasis of trees in a sea of corn and bean fields. The beautiful log park lodge is a great place for parties and reunions. The park itself has some nice hiking...More

It is a really nice State Park year round. Lots of picnic sites, and a small camping area that are open most of the year. Nice hiking and horse trails. There is a big log cabin lodge available for parties available by reservation only.

I was happy to get out and go for a hike. The trails aren't well maintained or well marked. Since I was alone, I didn't venture too far when the path looked a bit overgrown. Word to the wise...use bug spray.
