We stayed in the family cabin for a quick getaway for Valentine's day. Nice cabin for two people and our two beagles. Nice kitchenette. Would be a bit cramped for a family with older kids, but would be a good size for a family of...More

We rented Cabin 2 for 4 nights and 3 days in late March. Equipped with a bed, a futon, full kitchen including (refrigerator/stove/microwave/oven/coffee pot), and a standing shower, it was a perfect place to come back to after a full day of hiking and exploring!...More

I camped at this park for 3 nights in August 2017. It is one of my favorite parks to camp or hike in. The sites are inexpensive and large. You are allowed to gather firewood or their is firewood on sale at the campground. Beautiful...More

We actually came here to fInd Iowa's oldest geocache - which is the only one in the park but we ended up really exploring and enjoying the park. We took the full Backbone trail and really enjoyed the views and the relative quiet. Easy and...More

We camped at the Six Pines campground here over Labor Day weekend. We found a beautiful park to hike, with enough trails to keep us busy for 2.5 days dedicated to hiking. The trails are lovely, although most of the ones near the campgrounds are...More

Well, there are a variety of facilities including cabins that you can rent that looked very nice. As for bugs? Of course there were bugs, it's frickin' Iowa. But they weren't at all bad. We really liked it and it's well-kept.
