Must visit!

This is a must see if you are in the area. We spent a couple hours here checking out all the exhibits. Even as adults, we found it a fun time. So many beautiful creatures to see.

My wife and I spent this past Saturday, May 20th at the museum/aquarium. We were there for about four hours. My wife really enjoyed the touch tank with the sting rays. I was fascinated with the steam ship history exhibits. There seemed to be a wide age range of kids and adults all enjoying various aspects of the experience. We... More

The kids loved this place. They are little...1/2 and almost 3 yrs. They have a wall of water which got them a little wet, but it was a wonder to them. The children's area was fun for them as well. I liked the portraits of the area historical people.

I saw a billboard for this place a couple years ago on my way out west and said I wanted to return some day for a visit. I am glad I finally did! We brought our kids ages 6,8,10 and there really was something for everyone. Tons of kid-friendly stuff mixed in with stuff that adult nerds can also enjoy!... More

A very dark exhibit area, many of the exhibits were empty. Quite a high price for the quality of the collection. Steam ship elevator out of order, Not impressed at all.

Visited with our daughter and her three young sons. Located right next to the Mississippi. Very nice facility, accessible and great for the kids. Well-done displays of riparian and aquatic life and ecosystems. Some interesting human history related to the Mississippi is depicted as well. Interested in some geology or hydrology of the "Mighty Mississippi?" They have this too. Don't... More

The place is rather small, but it still is something kind of cool to do. Definitely something cool to do if you have kids.

I visited the National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium for the first time on a Sunday, and was delighted to see so many families with small children enjoying this facility. The museum is a small campus that features a range of indoor and outdoor exhibits-- so there are plenty of opportunities to run and climb. The exhibits are all informative;... More

My daughter and I visited this attraction in the spring. The museum portion is small. Although the Mississippi drains to the ocean, we were still surprised to see salt water tanks, considering this is a Mississippi River Museum. The aquarium is well done but not extensive. There are lots of things for children/young people to do and learn, so in... More

As a senior citizen we went on an off day (Tuesday) and it wasn't real busy since we went in April. There was a school group but they were non invasive and quite polite. The 4-D experiences were great and very reasonable in price. The gift shop has cool things, even local wine. We ended up buying a membership because... More
