Fun to run

Ran through here for the half marathon. A beautiful park. The bridge across the lake is particularly nice. A fun lake for stand-up paddling.

Nice park near to downtown. Calm and could see people in various activities - Good for a nice walk or ride on bike with lake view.

It's so close to traffic but by itself is a serene place where one can sit by the water, walk, run or just have a picnic as the mood is. Difficult to believe it's so close to downtown!

Grays Lake has a great paved sidewalk and bridge to go around. The path is stroller friendly and has slight inclines and declines. It is not strenuous or over crowded. There is also a location, with limited hours, to rent paddle boats, paddle boards or sailboats.

My friend and I ran around this lake in October. The fall colors were fantastic. I pleasantly noticed there was minimal tagging and/or litter. Most dog messes were picked up as well. It was nice to run through an area that was well cared for and appreciated by the community. The path is well paved and wide allowing for multiple... More

Beautiful trail around Gray's Lake, it's hard to believe it's in Des Moines! Families out for a walk, bicyclists, joggers, everyone.

Gray's Lake is great for a picnic, a walk, a bike ride, kayaking and just being out side in general. It is kept clean and there aren't a lot of sketchy people lurking around. There are trails that lead to downtown and other parts of the city. Also you can walk right across the street into Water Works and walk... More

Grays Lake has a wonderful walk=around that provides both sun and shade. Lovely views into downtown Des Moines just add to the ambiance. Great healthy activity for the whole family!

My husband and I enjoy going here to walk or ride bikes. It's a wide trail and makes a loop although there are off-shoots to other trails if you want to explore. Walking around the lake there's a breeze typically. It can be crowded. It's a little over 2 miles around.

This is a great park to sit and relax, go for a stroll or more rigorous exercise. Water rentals are available in season... always lots of people running, walking dogs are hanging out by the water... and there are apparently Pokemon everywhere if you are into that sort of thing!
