It was very cold when we got out to walk so we were only there for about an hour. I would definitely return. This is a very well kept area and I love walking bridges. I sent my son in law a video of the expansive skate park. I truly wanted to go back for pictures at night but was not able to do so. Definitely want to return I spend longer

What a lovely architectural note for the city. The expanse allows for some spectacular views of the city, river, and whatever is floating by.

Awesome bridge over the dam. Fascinating to watch the water fall and swirl. Powerful river in the spring.
Very cute fishing pole and bobber play area for kids.

Beautiful, clean bridge and park.
Connects up to the bike and walk path. Can go anywhere on the path up or down river.

Suggest doing the walking loop across this bridge, then down to the red bridge on south side of Downtown, then walk back up. We did this and enjoyed it!

I visited Rotary River Park while touring the Des Moines area one evening. It features a beautiful bridge and a whimsical swing set area that looks like a fishing pole and a bobber. Set right next to the river it is a great spot for walks or runs.

I’m sorry I only saw it at night but it was still wonderful!

This park has several features including the Women of Achievement pedestrian bridge over the river, Asian Gardens, and a giant fishing pole play sculpture. It connects into a larger paved trail network so it can be part of a larger hike or bike ride if desired.

Great, long trail system, not a lot of shade in certain areas, near downtown and areas with shops, bars, restaurants

Past through the park during my morning run. The park was empty then so couldn't really see if it's a place that kids love. The swings looked a bit futuristic to me. They are now extending the area by building a skateboard park next to it. Anyway it's a nice a area and once you're there you should cross the river over the nice "womens bridge" to see the Asian garden on the opposite side.

I was able to walk some of this section of the city on one of rare sunny days I had in early May while visiting. The trail system has an easy map to follow with some interesting stops. I especially liked the Chinese pagoda area and learning about some of the immigrant history of the city. This lovely nearby bridge offered a vehicle-free view of the city.

If you want to bike, walk run, or stroll this is the place to go. You get to exercise, or take photos, all year around and the views are stunning. The trail is always open - even when we have deep snow, you can still walk along the river and take in the changes in seasons.
