Freshwater rockpool is located on the northern beaches in Sydney. The rockpool is neatly tucked into the headland between Curl Curl Beach and Freshwater Beach. There are excellent facilities available with change rooms, showers, toilets and parking. The pool is a 50m olympic size swimming pool with marked lanes. There is also a fabulous boardwalk above the pool which continues onto Curl Curl Beach

Many of the northern beaches are having rock pools, but what is makes this one very special, that it is the very first ocean pool on Sydney’s northern beaches. It dates back to 1925. Soon we can celebrate its 100th anniversary. The 50m, eight lanes pool is precisely opposite to Queenscliff's head ( By the way, it is also housing a rock pool.)
If you do the Curl Curl Boardwalk, in the end, you arrive at Freshwater beach, an only short stroll away from this rock pool, which one is on the northern end of the beach.
Be aver the rosters time, since depending on weather conditions, it can take a longer time to fill up the pool. You can check the cleaning time on a sign at the pool. On the website are just specific closures that are mentioned.
It is easily accessible, has a car park (not free!), but the bus No 139 also vas a stop nearby. There is a shower, and in the Freshwater Amateur Swimming Club building, you can find toilets.
Currently, the pool has restricted use, max ten people at the same time, 1,5 m distancing.

Freshwater Rockpool is a wonderful for swimming laps or just enjoying a quick dip and it’s totally free ! . The pool is cleaned frequently so it’s best to check the roster on the northern beaches council website before heading off.
There are change room, toilets and parking available.

Beautiful beach didn’t seem too busy when we went which was Friday day time. My fave in Sydney but I’ve not seen them all. It’s like a bigger Shelly Beach which was very packed on the Friday.
