Taltree Arboretum & Gardens is 501(c)3 non-profit dedicated to preserving the environment, educating the public, and conserving a natural space for guests to enjoy. Situated on a beautiful 330-acre oak preserve of formal gardens, and restored woodlands, wetlands, and prairie, Taltree hosts a variety of public classes, exhibits, and events. During visits, guests can explore approximately 6 miles of hiking trails and diverse landscapes, relax in the formal gardens, visit animals in the children's garden, enjoy the intricate Railway Garden, and more.

I love this Arboretum and Garden. Taltree does a lot to bring a simple yet elegant beauty to the spacious ancient grounds. If you are looking for a secret garden experience, Taltree is the ideal place.

Great place to hike and wonder to see nature at its best. The train depot is a must for kids to see the impact of the railroad on the growth of the U.S.

If you love plants, the outdoors, and/or model railroading, you'll enjoy Taltree. Kids and adults alike will enjoy watching the model trains and their extensive North American landscape.

If you aren't going to be hiking then an hour should be plenty to visit the model railroad and the farm animals. The hiking trails vary in length and intensity if you decide to hike they could take anywhere from 45 minutes... More

Hello, We allow pets as long as they are leashed at all times; however, animals are not allowed in the Visitor's Center or Railway Garden

Are there public washrooms with flush toilets? Are there restaurants or snack food and beverages available?

Thank you for asking. We have public restrooms with running water and flushing toilets in 2 locations. We have a visitors center with hot dogs, popcorn, and other snacks and beverages available for purchase.
