Taltree Arboretum & Gardens is 501(c)3 non-profit dedicated to preserving the environment, educating the public, and conserving a natural space for guests to enjoy. Situated on a beautiful 330-acre oak preserve of formal gardens, and restored woodlands, wetlands, and prairie, Taltree hosts a variety of public classes, exhibits, and events. During visits, guests can explore approximately 6 miles of hiking trails and diverse landscapes, relax in the formal gardens, visit animals in the children's garden, enjoy the intricate Railway Garden, and more.

Absolutely beautiful place to go for us senior citizens and our grandchildren!! Dedicated and knowledgeable volunteers help make this place a wonderful experience and well worth the visit!!

Plenty of shorter trails make this an easy run or hike. Just loop a couple of times to get in distance. The red trail is a bit more steep and wooded.

Railroad is amazing and they have a few animals to see as well--chickens, goats, rabbits. Nice trails.

Great place to go and relax. Be with country,I was able to come when they were taking part in the Valparaiso Garden Walk and it was beautiful.

If you aren't going to be hiking then an hour should be plenty to visit the model railroad and the farm animals. The hiking trails vary in length and intensity if you decide to hike they could take anywhere from 45 minutes... More

Hello, We allow pets as long as they are leashed at all times; however, animals are not allowed in the Visitor's Center or Railway Garden

Are there public washrooms with flush toilets? Are there restaurants or snack food and beverages available?

Thank you for asking. We have public restrooms with running water and flushing toilets in 2 locations. We have a visitors center with hot dogs, popcorn, and other snacks and beverages available for purchase.
