I thought it was fun but kind of funky.

I visited the East Race Waterway with my 15 year old last summer and thought it was fun. The price is reasonable for a few minutes of excitement. The only drawback with the... read more

Great way to spend some time on the weekends. You will get wet. Wear the right shoes and everything else is provided for a $5 per person ticket. Lots of fun!!

Some smart people created a very neat attraction. For paddlers with some experience this seems like a thrilling way to safely enjoy some wave action and obstacles to dodge. Lots of people using it the day I visited.

Course for inflatable kayak or raft. Looks like a blast and would love to do in a kayak. South Bend Parks Dept rents inflatable rafts or kayaks and safety gear for a one trip through on weekends in summer. A few people in whitewater kayaks were having lots of fun and a guy on a paddle board made it most... More

Okay, I'm a kayaker so this is my favorite place in South Bend. Even if you don't have your own boat, the East Race is open to the public for rafting on summer weekends between June and August. It's a family friendly fun way to spend a summer afternoon. Life jackets, helmets and all the necessary gear are provided for... More

I visited the East Race Waterway with my 15 year old last summer and thought it was fun. The price is reasonable for a few minutes of excitement. The only drawback with the operation is that the life jackets they give the rafters SMELL ABSOLUTELY AWFUL! Not sure if this is an ongoing problem but the life jackets smell like... More

The East race was fun for a bit when it was new, about 25 years ago, but with the bums hanging out and the hoods at nite, I have avoided it. Did the kayak thing about 10 years ago, , gee, what fun. Walked around the East race Sunday afternoon, was nice to watch the river flow and let ones'... More

Fun place to take a summer 'white water' trip down the raceway. Kids or adults would have equal fun on this short run.

A great fun way to spend the day. Just what is needed on a hot day...cool wet water. Just watching can be relaxing.

We walked for about 2 miles - nice and they have new lights for the nighttime...just stay alert--we were asked for money a coupe of times. :(
