Great little stopover. Whilst it wasn't on our list, due to an unexpected stopover due to trailer maintenance. The volunteers were very friendly, and the town should be proud of the area. Talk of a truck museum in town will only add to the list...More

Buildings beautifully restored, great history and you can even play on the telegraph machine! Also houses a handy seconds book or swap section!

Worth a look if you are in Tambo. And it the sort of place you would be in if you were passing through somewhere else. The post office is quite charming, and it's pleasant enough to wander around and read the signs.
This is a very interesting walk through the town, with heritage buildings clearly identified, including some of each building's history. We intended to camp overnight, but we stayed an extra day to see some of the town's history.
Manned by local volunteers, the village allows visitors insight to the old and the new Tambo.
Always nice to 'yarn' with volunteers in the small town. Very knowledgable about the a Heritage Precinct and you can take your time exploring.
Very worth stopping for.
They have a lot of bits a pieces in the heritage buildings and have done well to pull them together into a story that you can walk through. You can spend 30min or several hours here depending on what your interests are. I really liked...More
