It was the last place we visited while in Jeffersonville and it was simply wonderful. We enjoyed it all - the soda fountain, the candy making demo, the candy museum. You just don't find places like this any more and it's still family-owned. We talked a lot with the owners and they are the nicest, friendliest people you'll ever get... More

My husband, 3 yr old and I visited on a Saturday afternoon after we had eaten lunch nearby. We checked out the museum in the back and saw some great candy memorabilia. They do a presentation as the candy is being made. At the end they give out free samples of it and it was delicious. We got to try... More

We took our family in to watch the staff make candy. We were warmly greeted as soon as we opened the door. We were offered free samples of chocolates or Jelly beans. A woman was making chocolate dipped Carmel's, in which we were able to watch her through a window. They have a large display of antique candy items. The... More

Jeffersonville has come a long way from being a sleepy little town but Schimpff's seems to have been here forever. It's a good place to grab a few items for Halloween or Christmas. Actually, their candy is pretty good but don't forget the mini museum in the back. It's free of course. They also have a small area where they... More

If you a child or even a child at heart, you will fall in love with smells, the tastes of this wonderful, interesting Candy-extravaganza. It will take you back in time, with all the candy's we grew up with. And then you get a chance to taste and purchase your favorites, in your own bag. your treasures will not make... More

One of the oldest confectionaries in the country, family owned and operated since 1891, plus they still use their old equipment. We caught a tour--given by the owners, no less--and browsed the small, but interesting, candy museum. They are evidently famous for their cinnamon hard candy, which they made and sampled during the tour and demonstration. I remember my grandfather... More

I love this place. I have the biggest sweet tooth and I have tried a lot of candy over the years. They have the best chocolate candies I have ever had hands down!!! If you get the opportunity go and watch them make it. I will definitely come back and make some online purchases for Christmas! The sodas and floats... More

We rode bikes over the Big Four Bridge to Schimpff's as recommended by the bike rental shop. The shop is in a little downtown area next to a pub. We found the little museum charming! It was neat to see all the old equipment they still use and they were making hard candies and offered us a sample. Next time... More

It was fun to see the museum. They were short handed that day so were not making candy when we were there but that was ok. They had many different candies and of course we had to buy some. Delish.

Really neat to watch them make the candies in the old fashioned candy factory and the museum is pretty neat too. GREAT peanut brittle. :)
