Spent a nice morning here

I had the chance to explore the Canal area for a couple of hours on a quiet Friday morning. I wasn't sure what to expect, but it turned out to be a nice walk.

This is a beautiful place to take a walk with wide pathways along both sides. Some of the area runs through residential areas but there are some pretty trees and flowers throughout. I would highly recommend stopping by the Congressional Medal of Honor Memorial, it's a great memorial to the Medal of Honor recipients both living and departed. We stopped... More

Had never spend much time in downtown Indy and this was a great surprise. The canal walk was free with options to rent paddle boats - bikes you name it. Beautiful way to spend a spring day - really enjoyed the canal and will be back anytime we are in downtown Indy.

We didn't have a long visit but have to return. Beautiful green space areas up and down the canal. Handicap accessible at our entry spot.

We were in the area to visit our son at IU. WOW! What a great spot. We had some awesome weather in EARLY MARCH (temps in the 60s and sunny). We wound up parking near the Marsh supermarket (227 W Michigan St) which was about 1/2 way along the length of the canal. We walked one side of the canal,... More

A nice place to take a Sunday afternoon walk. We rented a paddle boat and went the upstream route (1 mile round trip).

The canal is a scenic fantastic place to walk with family, friends, and pets. There are paddleboats for rent and during the summer months gondolas can be seen making their way down the rustic waterway. People train here for various running events as well as walk to the Eiteljorg Museum, our statehouse, the Indiana State Museum, just to name a... More

We were traveling east across several states and stopped in Indy take a break from the drive. We stumbled upon this Canal Walk and what a pleasant surprise it was! We stretched our legs and walked along the meandering canal with the gondolas and outdoor bistros, walked through the first floor of the museum, and got a quick bite to... More

Nice place for a walk or a jog or to walk your dog. Very clean and very safe. Cant get lost. Walk from start to finish. Once per year you can swim in it too during the triathlon.

Wonderful area to take a walk with my husband. Lots to see & couple of places to eat or drink. Felt safe & comfortable talking with passer-byers.
