Home to over 2,000 animals and Indiana's largest aquarium, this 64-acre zoo has lions, elephants and other wild animals roaming through natural settings. A special petting area allows children to touch, but not feed, the tamer animals. There's also the world's largest enclosed dolphin show and a roller-coaster for all ages to enjoy.

We went in February and it was still awesome. We got there just in time to see the dolphin show - amazing. Also, make sure you check out the orangutan exhibit. I've never been face-to-face with an orangutan before. It was such a cool experience.

There are an abundance of animals on display at all times. The exhibits are very viewer friendly. There are many different things for children to stay entertained. Food options are plentiful. This is just a great place to spend a day.

The Indy Zoo is a hometown favorite! We go every summer and never miss Christmas at the Zoo. The zoo is large enough to offer a wide variety of animals but not so large that the kids get too tired to enjoy it. Don't miss...More

Best to arrive late afternoon to see the animals and avoid the crowds. But you'll want to be there for at least an hour after dark to get the full effect of the lights.
