The museum has a wonderful art collection and the grounds are really great for family picnics in the summer. They also have the 'Lily House' on the grounds, that can be toured. It was built for the Eli Lily family.

Saw both a Matisse exhibit and a Dream Cars exhibit there. I live near the the museum so it is convenient to visit. The best part is the first Thursday of each month is free admission including the special exhibits.

We went to IMA to see the Gustave Baumann exhibit currently on display. The art is beautifully displayed and comprehensive. The rest of the collection is very good, especially for Indiana artists. It also has a wonderful 20th century design gallery. Good cafeteria as well.

We took an Uber ride out of downtown five miles. Spent two hours walking the museum and had a light lunch in their cafe. The permanent collection has a lot of room for interesting presentations of less well known works by major artists. There were...More

Are there places to stop for short term parking around The Virginia B. Fairbanks Art & Nature Park? I'll have 2 small kids with me and don't think they'll be up to walking to each stop with the amount of distance between them.

Hey there~The art park you are talking about is behind the IMA. I accessed it from an exit off of 38th Street. It's right at the exit and so is a parking lot. At that lot you are right there, a few feet and you are down in... More
We had planned on taking family pictures at the 100 acre woods on Sunday, but weather says thunderstorms likely. Would we be able to take pictures inside the museum if it is raining?
