Great Collection

The museum had a really impressive collection of art across multiple genres. It also had a great room where kids could explore. I would highly recommend a trip to the museum.

The IMA is quite lovely and has so many beautiful pieces of art to enjoy for a very inexpensive price. The gardens and outside grounds are simply divine and exceedingly enjoyable to stroll around for the day. The cafe serves wine and that of course is a bonus in and of itself, because wine and art just go together like... More

I love museums like this! So much history & art! I hardly had enough time to devote, but even a few hours gives you a great experience. If you have more time, spend more time there! The gardens are so beautiful, too, so don't skip the outside portion of this amazing place!

I love this art museum located in a peaceful park setting with a wonderful display of art through the centuries from all over the world. The parking is free but the fee to get in is somewhat high, $14. The gift shop is well stocked with unusual items besides the usual books and post cards.

It's too bad the entrance fee is so high. You almost feel like you have to buy a membership because the one-time entrance fee is so high. I used to love coming here with students and my family before they started charging so much to get in. Now it has had to become a rare treat. I do like that... More

We are members and we went there for the Orchid exhibit. Yes, orchids, since the museum also has a very significant greenhouse, gorgeous and sprawling gardens, etc. FANTASTIC. They also tied in the real flowers to an exhibit inside the museum of orchids, flowers and nature. AND, an exhibit inside the Lilly mansion of how orchids were displayed 'back then'.... More

A friend and I visited the museum on a Saturday morning and were incredibly pleased with our time there. We arrived shortly after the museum opened and spent almost 3 hours there. The museum is massive and we never felt rushed or crowded by other visitors. My friend is studying art, in college, and was excited about the variety of... More

I have always loved the Indianapolis Museum of Art, but the miniature golf and the hands on exhibits make it even more fun for the whole family. The 100 Acre Woods are a great way to spend a nice day outside while enjoying the man made art and natures art. The ancient art to contemporary art is fascinating.

This use to be one of the best museums in the Midwest. Now it charges so much that it is unaffordable. Maybe the goal was to keep the rifraf out and make the place elitist.

I liked the space, it was very clean and a great place to visit. The museum is a great size which is conquerable in a half-day and there is plenty of art spanning many stylistic periods. I would suggest not visiting on a rainy day (which I did) to be able to take in the sculptures outside. Next time I... More
