Nice museum of Indy cars and the history of racing and racing technology. The bus ride around the track with a stop at "the bricks" should not be missed. All museum personnel (volunteers mostly) are very nice and informative. Fun to see the golf course...More

What an awesome experience. Go on a weekend if you get the chance. There is a high likelihood there will be some sort of activity on the track and you can watch the cars from the museum windows. What an awesome display of racing history....More

The museum was a perfect place to get me hooked on Indy car. I wasn't excited about the museum, and considered skipping it all together. I am so glad I didn't! It's a lot of fun to see the previous winning cars, to read the...More

Indy has been on my bucket list since I was in high school. Took 40 years but I recently spent 3 days there for a vintage sports car race, and it was awesome. The history envelopes you as you walk around these hallowed grounds, the...More

We went to the Indy 500 and it was a pretty cool experience (provided you have ear protection) but unlike many race tracks, you can't see a lot of the action. The obstructed views made us decide it was a one and done event for...More

We went to visit the track just to see it and purchase some souvenirs. The museum is inside of the race area and because they were "running cars" on that day there was a charge to get into the field, a charge to park, and...More

My husband and I stopped here hoping to be able to do the track tour. Unfortunately, there were no tours the day that we went. We did still get to tour the IMS Museum which was very neat. Worth the cost of admission ($10). We...More

Passing through tomorrow night. Is there anything to see at that time beside the exterior of the track? Just looking for a photo opportunity at this historic place. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

You can stop and visit Gate 1, which is located at the southwest corner of the track. There is a parking lot on Main Street, just south of the roundabout at 16th, Main, and Georgetown Roads. Its a short walk over to the... More

Hello everyone, I'm looking at taking my son to the IMS Museum later this year and wanted to know whats involved in purchasing tickets to the "VIP Grounds Tour"? Can you reserve/purchase online, do you have to ring and reserve or is it a case of turn up on the day and take pot luck? I saw somewhere there is 4 tour times, 2 x morning and 2 x afternoon is that correct? And each tour lasts about 1 and 1/2 hours? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

We do accept reservations in advance, but you would pay upon arrival. For week-ends, and even some week-days, during the summer and especially over holidays, I recommend making a reservation. If you go to our website... More

I think this all depends on your interest in motorsports. We've had people spend half a day here. The typical time period is probably an hour. The VIP tour adds 90 minutes to that. The Kiss the Bricks tour is an... More
