My husband and I stopped in on our way home from visiting our son at college. We ate lunch in their seating area. You order at the counter cafeteria style and then they "buzz" you when it's ready. There is a separate counter for their homemade ice cream treats-fabulous milkshakes! We had chili and my husband also had a Reuben... More

Visited Fair Oaks Farm a few times. We did the Dairy tour which was really cool. We got to see a calf being born, amazing!! The food in the restaurant is very good. This is a beautiful place and the Dairy tour is very educational and fun.

My wife and I stopped at the Cowfe' on the way home from Indy. It's right off 65 so it's convenient and the food is made quickly so it's the perfect stop off when you're traveling. The menu at the cafe...oh, I mean cowfe'... is a little limited, mostly breakfast stuff and a few sandwiches, but it's very good. The... More

Came back from a business trip in Chicago. Stopped off at the Fair Oaks Farmhouse restaurant. Great food and excellent service. The onion soup was fantastic and the fried chicken salad was wonderful. Can't wait to try some of their desserts.

My family has made it routine to stop at Fair Oaks Farms when traveling between Chicago and Indianapolis. We've yet to eat in the restaurant or visit the exhibits, partly because we're busy checking out the cheeses and sweets in the large store. Our biggest attraction is the creamy, addictive milkshakes. On our most recent stop, we also picked up... More

Whenever taking a trip to Chicago, my wife and I always stop at Fair Oaks for some ice cream. The farm-to-table atmosphere is wonderful, and you can tell that all of the ingredients are top-quality! I hear great things about all of the other food options at Fair Oaks, but I can only attest to the deliciousness of the ice... More

The place is monstrous and geared for you to spend absurd amounts of money on trinkets. They did however have very good ice cream and their display of the production facilities was interesting. If you want to have an upscale Farm-to-Table dinner, and sped $50-$75/ person, go here. They even charge to ride a bus to see the cows

We stopped for breakfast. Since the restaurant was not open we ate at the small cafe/gift shop. DO NOT GET THE PANCAKES! Omelet was good. Wait until 10:30 a.m. to eat at Farmhouse.

I've had visiting this farm on my bucket list for several years. We included it in a trip from North Carolina to Notre Dame for football game. It was as much fun as the football game and our team won! This farm is simply amazing. It is spotless and the staff is superb! My favorite part was seeing a calf... More

About 45 minutes south of Merrillville on 65 south, They have Huge signs on the way there. I was slightly disappointed, The restaurant is a huge room with a vaulted ceiling, big fireplace and plenty of tables and booths. The staff was friendly and efficient but when you sit in a booth look at the wall at the end of... More
