The Miller House showcases the work of leading 20th-century architects and designers Eero Saarinen, Alexander Girard, and Dan Kiley. In 2000, the Miller House became a National Historic Landmark. The home, completed in 1957,was described in the Wall Street Journal as "...not only a landmark of modern architecture but also a fine example, possibly the finest, of a kind of modernist design with which too few are familiar, one that is warm, livable and majestic as it flows together with the landscape." Tours begin and end at The Columbus Area Visitors Center, 506 Fifth Street (not at the house). This guided tour is oriented to adults and children over 10 – please note only children over 10 are allowed on the tour and all guests must purchase a ticket.

The tour of this architectural treasure is run from the Columbus Visitors Center. It is worth every penny to see this mid-century modern house. The tour guide and the house caretaker gave a memorable tour of the house and grounds.

This house is not as well known as Johnson's Glass House, or Van der Rohe's Farnsworth House, but it should be. It is fully equal in quality of design and architectural significance of those storied modern masterpieces. And, unlike those more famous forebears, this house...More
