When I made an online purchase they did not send all the items that I ordered. Instead they sent a duplicate of one of the items. They refused to send me the missing item that I ordered until I paid for the duplicate item that I didn’t order. They would not pay for the shipping cost for me to return the item that I didn’t order even though it was their mistake. DON’T ORDER FROM THEM ONLINE!

Our last visit to Mr. Muffin’s was years ago when the grandkids were little, and when the store was still located in Carmel. Now they have moved the store and train layout to Atlanta, IN, in northern Hamilton County. This time I was taking a set of four grandchildren who were too young to go back then. The display here is amazing, and the layout is spectacular. I especially enjoy seeing the individual settings with little people figures engaging in all sorts of common, everyday types of gatherings from restaurants to athletic events, and too many other things to describe in detail. Granny always says I drag the grandchildren along just to give me an excuse to visit!

I drove my two sons to Mr. Muffin's location in Atlanta IN during their business hours listed online. When we got their it was closed. I called their phone number and reached a recording saying they're busy and call back later or email them. My 3 year old was so sad. I tried coming up with something else to do while their in Atlanta, but it's a very small sleepy town with not much around.

Sorry for your trip and us not being there. I can’t think of a single day we were scheduled in July that we were not there. The store is open 10-5 Tuesday through Friday, and 10-3 on Saturday. The layout is only open Saturdays 10-3pm

What a layout, We take grands at Christmas time. There is so much to see and a continuing work of art. Really fun.

When our grandchildren flew in from the East Coast to stay with us for a week, I promised to take them to a great train store, which we had enjoyed taking grandchildren to when it was in Carmel. We had never been able to see the new store when they moved to the extreme northern part of Hamilton County, since it is quite a drive from our house, and it isn’t on the way to anything. I checked out the hours and days of operation online, and made a note that they were closed on Mondays. So, we waited until a Tuesday to drive all of the way to Atlanta, IN with three of our grandkids, only to find everything closed and locked up even though we arrived around 11:00 am that morning. The kids were so disappointed. I called the number listed online, but there was no response except a recording saying they were busy and to call back later. I kept calling to no avail and finally had to give up and go home. We won’t bother making that trip again since you cannot depend on what days or times they will be open, and the drive there and back is very time-consuming.

The layout at 165 E Main Street in Atlanta, Indiana is only open on Saturdays, 10-3 pm. As in Carmel, it’s free to visit. The store is in a separate building at 177 W Main Street and it’s open Tuesday-Saturday 10-5pm, and 10-3pm on Saturday. Atlanta is 20 minutes from our old location in Carmel. Sorry you were disappointed.

I recently received a shipment from Mr. Muffin's Trains. The shipment arrived in perfect condition but the wrong item was sent. I had ordered a Lionel 6-83692 - Company Row House (White) but they sent 6-83591 (Yellow). I sent them an email on the weekend and didn't expect a reply until Monday. I didn't receive a reply. On Tuesday I sent a second note which they responded to. They acknowledged their error and told me they would gladly exchange it but I had to pay to ship it back to them. I asked them why and they said that is their policy and sent me a link to their policy description. I said that their policy was "obviously ridiculous" because I shouldn't have to be responsible for paying for their mistakes. If I had ordered the wrong item I would gladly pay for return shipping and the shipping for the replacement item. Their latest offer was to send me the correct item and to keep the one I have and all I would have to pay for is shipping. Based on this experience I will not purchase from them in the future and recommend that others avoid them. I should have purchased from MB Klein where I have always had a positive experience. Beware!

I love this place. Sad that it has moved, but worth the drive to check out the new place. Some of the best trains around.

Not impressed after a 3 hour drive to find the staff mostly busy working on the layout & they didn't even say hello. Went down to the new store right up the street "they have 2 buildings" and found a lot of stock at decent prices, Maybe they were better in Carmel before the move but at this time they don't compare to Americas Best Trains or Berwyn's Toy Trains in Illinois. These 2 have a better selection similar prices and definitely more personable employees. With all the 5 star reviews I'll try to stop back after their settled but won't go out of my way.

Yes, in April 2017 it was a work in progress. We moved 6000 o Gauge trains and a 60’ by 40’ layout there starting at the end of January. We had trains running by middle of May.

Very nice man, and very nice place with lots of great trains. Unfortunately, we visited at a time when they were moving the store to Atlanta, IN and only one small display set up. You could see all the other displays (tables mostly) getting ready to be completed, so we hope to venture back one day. The kids will love it!

I’m seeing conflicting information on location. TripAdvisor shows Carmel, Indiana and website shows Atlanta, Indiana? Those with recent reviews where did you actually travel to? Thanks for clarifying! I have a brother planning a visit and he’s a big train buff so would like to go...but not certain where? I’m thinking they moved north from Carmel but would like to confirm. Thanks so much...

They have now closed the Carmel location, and they have moved to a new location at 165 E. Main St. in Atlanta, Indiana. However, I recently made the trip up there with our grandchildren, and it was closed in the middle of the day, and in the middle of the week.
