This trail is fairly flat 9.5 miles total in and out. The trail ends at Lake Monroe so you can take a lunch and eat on the beach.

Hoosier is promoted as looking especially beautiful in the Fall, more rarely in the the springtime, when "oaks, maples, and hickories, dogwood, purple redbud, and spring wildflowers" are picturesque and gorgeous. The forest is a mix of private land and public land, which seems unusual...More

A Southern Indiana treat. Deep ravines, hills, thick forest, wildlife, great place to hike and take in some relaxing nature. Climb the old fire tower, awesome views from the top! A gravel road meanders through the thick under brush along the ridge. Nice day out.

I really haven’t encountered any difficult trails in the CharlesC. Deem Wilderness. Pro tip, stay on the trails that camp sight by the water looks close on the map but there’s not a easy way to get there by foot.
