Enjoyed peaceful day hiking through prairie and wetlands. Saw the herd of bison, at least 30 of them. Lots of songbirds. Bring a hat...no shade in the prairie. After that took the short drive to downtown Wilmington on Route 66. Really nice antique stores. Had...More

Buffalo this close to Chicago? Yes it's true and you should stop in and learn about them. A little gem just outside of Chicago with friendly employees willing to help i m anyway. Doing our part to preserve the Bison that use to range freely.

This is a great place to hit the trails. They are well groomed and flat so that even the person out for an afternoon stroll would enjoy it. The trip back to the bunkers was great and a must see.

This prairie is a great spot to do some walking while looking for bison. Sometimes you don't see them, but when we were there we saw about 20 of them. It's really neat to see the bison in what was once their natural habitat.

Went to see the buffalo sometimes you can get up really close. Museum is small but pretty informative. Great place for hiking.

We came here on a Sunday afternoon, hoping to see the bison. We grabbed a map/brochure from the welcome building and drove to the area down the road where the bison trail was located. The area is beautiful with all of the tall wildflowers and...More
