This museum recently reopened after major renovations, we did not see the museum prior to the renovations, so can't comment on improvements, but this museum far exceeded our expectations. We spent several hours exploring and reading, very impressive.

Although the U.S. Army has used divisions as a fundamental combat organization since the Revolution, they were not permanent formations with a continuing lineage and honors until the First Expeditionary Divison, later the 1st Infantry Division, was assembled from Army units from around the United...More

This museum is wonderful. My kids (12,14) were amazed at the WWII walk-through as well as the virtual reality of modern warfare. Check out this old museum now updated. Beautiful location within Cantigny for walks and a phenomenal museum. Way to go Cantigny.

Cantigny Park is a great place to visit. The cost is $10.00 for parking. Once inside there is the Museum, McCormick Mansion, and beautiful gardens, all at no extra cost. This time we visited the First Division (The Big Red One) Museum. The museum was...More

Presently closed for rehab. Will reopen August 26. It displays the difficult and good times our troops had in time of battle. Makes one appreciate the men and women that gave their lives for our freedom.

Just to let everyone know if you are planning to visit the first division museum and what to take pictures of the tanks outside the museum before September 2017 you will not. Unfortunately the tanks are all fenced in and the museum is closed.

Our museum is about a mile away from the Winfield train station. You could arrange for a taxi from the train station to Cantigny Park where we are located.
