No Entrance Fee Event
Oct 2021 • Family
Today's review will cover 2 key aspects of the venue. First, as you arrive to Donny Acres do not be surprised if parking is chaotic. There are days when there are over 2000 cars parked and can be overwhelming. There are 3 handicap parking spaces and a loading/drop off area near the main entrance if that helps. Crowds can be heavy depending on weather conditions and particular days. Secondly, the venue has a little bit of everything to suit all ages. From nastalgic Carnival Rides, Train Ride, Hay Rack Tour, Petting Zoo, Food, Snacks, Bar, Shopping, Pumpkins, Country Store and Live Music venues. Sonny Acres has everything for a chill relaxing day out with family or friends. The prices are fair concidering there is no entrance fee. All in all we spent approximately $275 on ride tickets, snacks, drinks, carmel apples, canned goods and 9 pumpkins; one which was bruised and rotten. Overall it was a fun day and somewhat costly.

Terrible for environment and community
Oct 2021
Sonny Acres used to be a nice family destination. It is now a noisy, overcrowded annoyance to its community. The owner has no concern for the environmental impact of her choices not to mention community impact from the noise, traffic, trash. The other family farms in the area are better values and seem to care more about their local community.

Bump up to five stars
Oct 2020
Been taking my kids and grandchildren here for over 30 years and this is the nicest it has ever looked. The place is more spread out and more and better rides. Almost everyone wore mask and they take your temperature before letting you in. Parking lot no longer mud. My granddaughter had so much for on the rides and with the animals. The only slight negative is the prices have gone it a little. Staff was friendly and helpful. The new owner seems to be making some good upgrades.

Great Family Place
Oct 2020
Love this place! I'm so happy they are still here. We had so much fun. Rides are a little pricey but given nothing else is open it's okay. They have done what they can and are required to do with Covid (temp checks and masks), it's up to everyone to social distance. If people feel they can't social distance then stay home!! This activity is outside for goodness sake. Hope they stay open and people don't ruin it for them!

TRUEY IRRESPONIBLE
Oct 2020 • Solo
Someone really needs to Investigate the serious overcrowding, lack of social distancing and no face mask wearing. CoviD is not a joke people are dying. Children young and old cannot get a proper education because this virus keeps spreading. Most importantly I say it again PEOPLE ARE DIEING from COVID.
Sunny Acres Farm is Truely IRRESPONSIBLE!!!

Way too crowded on a weekend
Oct 2020
We went on a Sunday and it was very crowded and impossible to social distance. Almost everyone was wearing a mask and the staff takes temperatures at the entrance. We didn't stay long given the crowds, was not worth the risk.

There are lots of activities for kids but it's just a lot of activities packed in a relatively compact space.

If you have kids, and want to entertain them, go on a weekday.

Great time as always at Sonny Acres farm!
Sep 2020 • Family
I have been going to sonny acres for 30 plus years, it’s a tradition to go Every year. I went a couple of weeks ago and thought the new owners have done an amazing job sprucing up the farm and attractions!! I’m so excited to go back next weekend, the rides are all brand new and they have added some great new attractions that the kids will love! I was disappointed to see a bad review that said the rides were rusted bc that was not true and they had hand sanitation pumping stations by all the attractions. I’m just hoping they added more bathrooms 😊

Just hand over all your money to catch Coronavirus
Sep 2020
Half the Sonny Acres staff weren't wearing masks. 90% of patrons took their masks off immediately after passing the Covid gate check and no one working there said anything. No masks were being required on any attractions either which eliminated almost every activity other than looking at a few animals and the gift shop. Even their food and drink stalls had employees not wearing masks.

As if this wasn't bad enough, my pregnant wife reported there was no running water in the restroom trailers making it impossible to wash your hands. Plus this place was charging on average $6-10 per attraction, which is equivalent to Great America pricing. The difference is that these rides were very rusted, paint worn off, not being sanitized between riders at all and exorbitantly priced for how boring the rides were.

These owners should be ashamed of themselves for advertising on their website that they are taking precautions for Covid and for price gouging. I'm waiting to hear on the news about several new cases of Covid popping up from people who went to Sonny Acres Coronavirus Farm.

Thank you for taking the time to visit our farm. As this has been a challenging time for businesses worldwide, it means everything to us that you were able to come out and support us. We do want to clarify our procedures as our family-run team has been working tirelessly to develop protocols, procedures and policies to ensure everyone's safety. Firstly, every guest that visits the property is audibly asked to wear a mask and is temperature checked before we allow entry. Signage is abundant as we have taken extra precaution in addition to telling customers by creating these reminders and thoughtfully placing them throughout the property. Our employees are required to wear a mask for the entirety of their shift and we have supervising staff to ensure this for the safety of our guests as well. We have hired additional support staff (in a time when many businesses are experiencing layoffs, etc.) to allow for each attraction to be cleaned between uses. We also want to mention that we have been not only maintaining the property, but upgrading to improve guest experience. Regarding the washrooms, we have recently made a very sizeable investment in both brand-new facilities and installed washing stations and hand sanitizer pumps at more than 15 check points on our farm. Thank you for voicing your concern also regarding our prices. To your point about the state of the rides, we have just purchased them brand new and they were installed a week and a half ago. We made this investment out of concern for our customers safety and security when visiting. Our pricing is very competitive, and if it is an issue we do encourage you to enjoy our property for no admission fee, take family photos, visit with the animals etc. We do our very best to both stay in business and make our venue accessible to all families. All in all, we wanted to get back to you and say thank you for your visit, explain a few of the new additions and procedures as we have put so much time and love into making our farm a fun, safe place for all. If you are interested in contacting us to discuss your experience, please message us on social media and we're happy to set up a call. Thank you again for your business.
