We went with gray line, picked up on time and easy transfer to the main bus. The tour was fantastic, the guide and driver very friendly. The guide was a wealth of knowledge and was there to answer questions all day. Sadly on the way...More

We went in October for a week and had an amazing time. This was the Golden circle route. You can visit all the spots the same day if you start very early. The farthest place from Reykjavík is 2 hrs and half depending how fast...More

Don't get me wrong - this is worth doing. It's just most tourists will be on the same road as you doing the same stops. We hired a car for our week in Iceland and followed everyone around the Golden Circle doing the same stops...More

My husband and I rented a car in Iceland and we drove the Golden Circle ourselves. It was a wonderful experience and we got to do it at our own pace. The Thingvellir national Park was a great place to take some amazing photos. Early...More

The driver did a great job bringing the real Iceland alive. From the music (introduction to Sigur Ros for many of the Americans on the bus, which was a hoot) to the snack (small lamb and bread he brought along) we had a wonderful tour....More

This really felt a bit like a tourist trap. As we just had finished the Laugavegur and Fimmvorduhals, we had been spoiled with some rather amazing scenery of Iceland, so this route was a little disappointing. Compared with what we saw later on in our...More

If you have only a short time in Iceland, the Golden Circle is the most popular route, covering a little of everything. Of major interest to me was Thingviller, but the spectacular waterfalls, geysers and hot springs, the mountains, the volcanos - this trip covers...More

This is a stunningly beautiful route & while there are a number of tours, i recommend hiring a car to get the full experience & you can then spend as much time as you like exploring each highlight. Thingvellir is so pretty with waterfalls &...More

Just a few hours from Reykjavik, the Golden circle offers a taste of Iceland available in a litany of tour packages. Places I thought were worth while where the tourist information center at Thingvellir National Park at the tectonic crevices behind it and Silfra. Gulfoss...More

We rented a vehicle from Blue Car Rental upon departing our hotel the next morning, adjacent to the airport as well as to the hotel. We DID NOT do the guided tour itself...and glad for that, in fact.

The Golden Circle is basically starting in Reykjavik stopping at Pingvellir, Geysir, and Gullfoss and then looping back. It is a day trip. If you have 7 days, the way better experience is the Ring Road. THAT shows you... More

No, but they help. Some places are slippery and wet. I liked having low hiking boots.
