We did the trip with SuperJeep. Were picked up at 8.30 am and dropped back off at 6 pm. Geysir, Gullfoss and Pingvellir are all must sees and to be able to do all three in a day trip is an amazing day. We also...More

Absolutely fantastic country. We had a driver, so we could enjoy the view. It was so very nice to have our driver stop and let us take our time to enjoy. He also knew of places to stop for coffee and other things with out...More

If you have limited time, the golden circle (Thingvellier National Park, Geysir Hot Spring Area and Gullfoss waterfall) will give you a "taste" of Iceland. The golden circle area is VERY CROWDED and you will walk in a line (think visiting Disney) to see these...More

Everything we saw on this route was breathtaking; I would recommend giving yourself enough time to take advantage of the hiking trails around the areas - especially at Thingvellir. It really is quite a thrill to see Stokkur erupt which it seems to do about...More

We drove this in one day, before setting off on a week's trip around the Ring Road. Truly, this route is designed to make the people who only stop over for a few days in Iceland feel like they've "seen" Iceland. They have not. It's...More

With minimal time in Iceland, this is definitely worth the drive. We did a self-guided tour and it took us about 8-9 hours from the time we left our place to when we returned. The route itself is about 3.5 hours. Definitely do your research...More

This was not as pleasant as we had hoped. We had a rental car and drove around the route. We were overwhelmed by the sheer number of people! It was so crowded everywhere we went. It had been so nice and so much less crowded...More

I gave this route 5 stars because you will see a lot, and if you're staying in Reykjavik and have a limited amount of time in Iceland, this is your best bet - but there is so much beyond the Golden Circle, you should really...More

The places visited on this route would have remained a mystery had I attempted to do this on my own. Take a camera.

The Golden Circle is basically starting in Reykjavik stopping at Pingvellir, Geysir, and Gullfoss and then looping back. It is a day trip. If you have 7 days, the way better experience is the Ring Road. THAT shows you... More

No way. Need a boot, perhaps a hiking with waterproofing and a warm, wicking sock. Perhaps a spare in case you get wet. You have to be ready for cold, wind, and rain at any time. It's slippery too.
