Easy to do by yourself with a rented car, if you are in Reykjavik or just visiting Iceland, the Golden Circle is a must-do. Easy to drive between the three main attractions - Thingvellir, Strokkur Geyser and Gulfoss waterfall - set aside an entire day to take in each one and drive the route slowly to appreciate the environment. Very... More

There is so much to see along The Golden Circle in Iceland - it is well worth the trip. We visited Thingvellir National Park which is a UNESCO World Heritage site and a big part of Iceland's history. It was too cold in December for us to snorkel in the Silfra Fissure so we focused on but we did get... More

If you don't have much time - or even if you do! - this 8 hour day trip is definitely worth doing. It might be nice to drive it yourself in the summer but in the winter it was nice to have someone doing the driving for us. Geysir was interesting and fun, watching the eruptions, then on to Gullfoss... More

We really enjoyed driving the golden circle, everywhere we looked there was something new to photograph - it was a feast for the eyes. Our favourite stops were the geysers and Thingvellir national park where the children had a wonderful time playing in the snow!

This trip has to be one of my all time favourites and is and absolute must for any Iceland trip especially if staying in Iceland! It's easily doable in a day, we went in January where there was only 5hrs of daytime and managed it with decent stops at each location... that's said you may want to spend longer at... More

We had hired a car, so decided to drive the route rather than go with a tour bus. We saw that the tours were approx £55 per adult, so we're really pleased we could do it much cheaper and at our own pace. We drove from our hotel in Kopavogur to Gullfoss - this took approx 1.5hrs. The route was... More

An amazing trip, gullfoss waterfall was a sight to behold and the start of my obsession with waterfalls. The trip varies a little between operators. We chose "Sterna" because the transport was a mini bus rather than a big coach, this made it easier between stops to get everyone on board and allows more time at each of the stop... More
