We arrived Keflavik airport around 2340hrs and went to collect our rental car. Note: It's better to rent a 4wd than a 2wd. Started our journey around 0100hrs and stopped by the city to get some food and supplies. Went on to drive till we reached Þingvellir (Thingvellir) National Park and decided to camp out till sunrise. Woke up can't... More

When i say nothing special i mean it comparing to the other sites i have visited in Iceland(did the whole ring road).Maybe the most popular since it's close to Reykjavik but seen far nicer things that this 3 included.Especially Pingvellir national park which is more historical site rather then part of amazing nature Iceland has to offer.

To avoid all the tour buses and self drives, who head to Thingvellir National park first, head in the opposite direction towards Gullfoss Waterfall. Not only will you get to see it in a more relaxed way but the drive out from Gulfoss to the Geysir was beautiful and you will have time to take pictures of the snowcapped mountains... More

We took the Guide to Iceland tour. Our native guide, with the unpronounceable Icelandic name, was fantastic. Not only did he show us the major sites of the Golden Circle but he also provided us with a few extra side trips as a reward for our group being on time. He answered all of our questions beautifully. In fact he... More

Full of al the beauties the best way to enjoy this Golden Circle is to rent a car and spend the whole day until the sunsets as you have countless of stops you make. If you go to Golden Circle tours, it is unnnecessarily expensive and you never have time to spend as you want. Also do not stick to... More

We had a great experience with trips. We had Snow man for our guide and he was great. He brought us to so many amazing places and since the visibility was so amazing he told us about all of the volcanos and the other amazing natural resources in the area. Great job worth the money

The golden Circle includes the Geysir, Gullfoss waterfall and the Thingvellir national park, which is the most important historical side in Iceland, as the Vikings established the world's first parliament there 3000 years ago. The national park is also on the boundary of the euroasian and the northamerican tectonic plate. The golden circle can be easily done by an own... More

Great scenery throughout the route and well worth the drive. We skipped Thingvellir natue park, since the weather was storm winds with sleet. We drove straight to the Strokkur/Geysir and then to Gullfoss. Just breathtaking.

I experienced the golden circle myself by hiring a 4x4 in Reykjavik and taking my guidebook onto route 1 which is the main ring road around the island. Its difficult to get lost and all the main attractions are easily assessable off route 1 - Gullfoss waterfall, Geysir, Thingvellir national park. We also enjoyed the scenery and churches in between... More

The Golden Circle, as many reviewers have written, is a must-see experience for those visiting Iceland. It combines natural wonders such as geysers and waterfalls with stunning views of the Icelandic scenery, snow capped peaks, and a rift valley along with an important piece of Icelandic history (the Althingi at Thingvellir). The Golden Circle is typically a clockwise circular route... More
