I caught my breath coming over the ridge when I saw this from the road. Stunning. Very easy to find-right off Hwy 1. A parking area on both sides of bridge going to lagoon and beach. Easy, short walk. We saw several seals playing in the lagoon. Must walk across street to Black Diamond beach. Both are MUST sees!!

Such a beautiful piece of nature. The sight of floating icebergs, hearing them cracking was one of my trip highlights. Quite crowded, but nothing can harm this place magical vision. Don't forget travel to the shore.

This place is stunning. Can't even put into words. There were leopard seals, puffins, all the marine life of Iceland minus whales in one area. The icebergs themselves are absolutely stunning to look at and watch move. This is a must stop! I promise you would not be disappointed.

This place is a must go! It's a long drive, but I recommend staying somewhere close by and enjoying Skaftafell national park too. Next to seeing the Northern Lights, this was my favorite place we saw. It's absolutely beautiful and well worth the drive. I don't think a tour is necessary... we drove there and walked around by ourself.

Needless to say Jökülsarlon is one bir wonder of nature. The view of ice blocks, glaciers and mountains in the scenery give you chills and if you walk a bit further from the tourists you sit on the stones and feel the relaxing atmosphere of that beautiful place. However I want to talk about a trend we saw during our... More

On the way to Hofn, you will easily find before a bridge 2 parking areas with a lot of cars. That is the easiest way to explain you where the ice paradise is... you can walk from the parking a few meters and discover something amazing... thousands small and big ice blocks in this big bay. The view is great... More

This place is awesome! Definitely the highlight of my travel in Iceland. It's a little expensive for a day tour but the view is worth every cent!

Pictures do it no justice, this is a truly magical place. From the sheer scale of the glacier in the distances to the sounds of icebergs crashing into each other as they head towards the ocean, you could spend hours here. We spend hours just observing the landscape and wildlife, seals swim into the lagoon whilst icebergs exit. After find... More
