A new church which really only appeals because of it modernity. It will never pass the test of time. The highlight was a picture of the relocation of the Arc of the Covenant from Judea.

At the entrance of the church we payed 200 birr, locals 20 birr, to visit the museum behind the church.(steps down)U have to leave ur bags and belongings in a locker before entering. I found it interesting to see. Golden and silver crowns, clothes etc....More

The church itself is very modest but the windows are beautiful. And the priests show you ancient writings of the bible. Queen Elisabeth II inaugurated the church back in the 60s.

Built in order to great the woman because they are forbidden on the old Monastery near by , these church is 50 s style , you need a guid and you ll meet a priest who ll show you an antique book and ll pray...More

If you go during the holidays, this is a crazy cool site to see! Tons of pilgrims traveling for months to get here seeing all the classic christian images, but with Amharic, wow, really cool!

We saw the inside of the church and a service where there was chanting and music, we had one priest read to us in Geez from the Bible which was written on vellum

Why are Christian places so expensive in Ethiopia? 50 Birr to see the stalae etc and 200 for the church ? It's definitely not worth it if you are a female as you can't gain access to the monastery which is actually the best part...More

Timket is celebrated colourfully every where in Ethiopia.But people mostly go to Gonder to celebrate Timket at Fassil castle.
