Excellent display of the cars and memorabilia. Much better than any other auto museum I've been to. Not a static museum, new things all the time plus some special events. It is also free but you should leave a donation.

As a Rt.66 enthusiast it would a definite stop. However, i wouldn't make the trip just for this,. You want to plan at least a half day or better to visit Pontiac and a good hour at the Pontiac-Oakland museum. It not only has some...More

Stopped here because Dad owned Pontiac's when I got my license, my first car was a GTO, so we stopped and this place was smaller then I thought it would be, but it told the story of Pontiac-Oakland very well. It even surprised my wife...More

Such a great history behind the Pontiac car! 3 floors of sights to see in relation to this car. We've had 6 Pontiacs in our lifetime and this even made us sadder to see it gone.

We were there to see the Route 66 stuff and came upon this very nice auto museum. Plenty of cars (but not too many!), history. It's very nicely set up. I'm not a huge fan of car museums, but enjoyed this one.

Loved this place................ How appropriate to have a Pontiac Car Museum in Pontiac, IL. It was a true look into a collection of memorabilia which covers decades. The oil can collection alone was worth the admission, I had never seen so many. The library is...More

Quite the collection of cars and associated artifacts from back in the day, right up to more recently. Make sure it's on your list of top three things to do in Pontiac, even if you're only passing through.

The Pontiac automobile museum has two great restaurants next door--DeLong's and Bernardi's. DeLong's have the best ribeye sandwiches and Bernardi's has the best fried chicken.
