Lovely country park with some beautiful surrounding walks, along tge canal to Cheddleton takes around an hour, but the walk to the black lion pub is an hour further ,along the churnet valley.
Easy parking at deep Hayes carpark, although today it did look quite unkept, beer cans, black dog mess bags .
Toilets at the car park, although the mens urinal has been out of use for 2 years ??

We decided to go on a little yomp around Depp Hayes on a sunny day. Unfortunately no access available to the onsite toilets due to the fact we were still in lockdown. The park its self is quite large and there are a few paths that you can take, one that also leads you back on the canal. Free parking but tight county roads to get to the country park if you are coming from Stoke so just beware because your sat nav will take you down some insane lanes.

Beautiful park, we love the Wild life. The people with kids that allow them to chase the ducks and harm them, and kick stones at our car ruins it. Also not allowing the disabled toilets to remain open is very harsh too, I’m a wheelchair user, with diabetes.

Lovely walks around the lakes and paths are good, although steps in places are a little steep. Dogs enjoy the walk although need to be on lead.

Went for a walk in the countryside to get some fresh air. Various walking routes of varying difficulty. Ended up going off track slightly but still a great walk. Deep Hayes itself was lovely a scenic. Perfect escape for a few hours.

This is a great area for a walk. The car parking is free and plenty of it. The walks are lovely and peaceful which offer great views as well.

Free car park, areas looked free of litter and dogs should be kept on the lead at all times. (Lots of signs reminding you of that) Limited flat areas around lake, can be steep steps to climb or muddy slope, so take sensible shoes. Small dam to cross which can be fun. Long and short walks.

The free car park and access to loos based in the country park (which has easy access to the canal and other walks) makes this a great place to start and finish a walk as well as potter about with the family. I went for a long walk with our two dogs out of Deep Hayes, along the canal to the Boat Inn and then back across country via Cheddleton itself and it was most varied and enjoyable. If you want a brew after your day out then go to the nearby Old School Tea Rooms which serves nice cake, coffee and All-Day Breakfast.
It's worth noting that if you approach Deep Hayes from Cheddleton, Park Lane is extremely narrow with relatively few passing places. If you're a not so confident driver, I'd recommend driving to Deep Hayes from Longsdon. If you plan to venture off the main paths, then I'd also recommend wearing stout shoes or boots as the side paths and tracks can be sticky with clay and some of the walkways have staples and metal mesh to improve grip.

Yes Free parking here. It's been a good few years since I last visited and I must say it's well worth it. Short or long walks available with some that can include a visit to the Pub. Circular walks can include a stop at The Hollybush Denford or a little further and including some uneven terrain and mud head for Cheddleton Here you have the Black Lion, the Red Lion, Castros & Oceans Waffle House so a great choice. Return via the canal its flat and easy going. Look out for the Bird hide in the country park and see an array of wildlife.

Are there routes suitable for pushchairs?

Yes but it is a limited area. You can have a limited walk in the park or walk to the nearby canal and venture along the towpath that is in good order.

How long is the walk around the park? Are there different routes? Looking for a walk that would be about 2hrs.
