My wife and I went here on an unseasonably warm February Sunday because nearby Starved Rock was packed to the gills with hikers. We found beautiful scenery, well-marked paths, and a chance to spend time out without constantly dodging other people. This park may not...More

We went for a short hike on a warm day in February. It was mostly grassland with the mounds here and there. Be prepared to figure out how the mounds represent the creatures. A little artistic license here. The views of the river were very...More

Good place to visit. Trails, good outdoor activity and natural ravines and waterfalls. Would reccomend with Starved rock close by.

Saw the bison/hiked trail. Trail = good. Did not like that hunters could be around where you are hiking. Nice views. And it's free. Was difficult to get to because primary way to get there was closed. All in all though very nice.

The paths were very pretty at this park and we enjoyed watching the buffalo. Nice place to stop with the family.

A smaller park than some of the other local parks but, having said that, there is plenty of room for a softball game and a great place to enjoy a picnic.

We go here often. Less crowded than Starved Rock, but excellent trails to be had. The bison here (two) are a sight to visit. We love the main shelter for picnic gathering. Try this park. You won't regret it!

We stopped here during our stay at Starved Rock; it's a short drive east on the north side of the river. There's a view of the river, two bison and a wonderful old oak tree. A nice change from the crowds at Starved Rock
