This trip is a must when in Swakopmund. The scenery is really like the moon photo's. Roads are well maintained. And while there, drink coffee and eat cake at Goanikontes.

First things first: You need a permit that can painlessly be obtained at the MET or NWR offices. It is N$10 per person for Namibians and N$30 otherwise + N$10 per vehicle, which is really not a lot. It is about 30 km from Swakopmund...More
