You can hike way higher than it looks like from the road!

Fairly easy but nice hike up to the top of the rocks with an amazing view. It is so neat up at the top! We went on a kind of chilly, misty day -- and it was still very cool. It's... read more

I love all parks but this one is on the small side and is pretty average. There is limited hiking. The highlights are the fact that it is adjacent to the river and a cool staircase to a platform high off of the ground and overlooking the river. The park provides access to the river and there is fishing from the... More

Fun little park. Great place to put in or take out kayaks. If you climb the stairs make sure you look under each step. You may find a nest with baby birds in it. Not recommend for dogs or cats. Was told by the local vet that lyme disease is really bad in this area. Well worth a visit just... More

My boyfriend and I went in January after a fresh snowfall and the view was so beautiful. The stairs were a little icy so we had to be extra cautious but was worth the hike to see that view. We will be going back for sure.

Well kept park with a good visitors center, large resort, and many miles of trails. We were lucky to see a pair of bald eagles fly onto a tree on a small island in the river as we were at the top of a trail.

This was a nice change of pace. We spend so much time at Rock Cut State Park, this was only an hour drive. Beautiful area, went to see some fall colors. Did both north and south trails along with a picnic. Kids even enjoyed it. It's nice to visit someplace new for the day.

We just did a quick drive through the park. Ample picnic tables and grills. Gorgeous views of prarie fields.

The feature that is worth mentioning about this park is the easy to navigate, short trails. The two we walked were well marked and were in a loop. So, you came out right where you went in. I like this bc you knew exactly what you were getting into upon embarking on the trails. As far as scenery, nothing special.... More

The park was bigger than we had imagined and we got lost on the Oregon Trail. Very scenic area! Glad we went,

The climb up the stairs is more than worth the view of the Rock River Valley. There is a lot of history about the native Blackhawk Indians and there are so many beautiful hardwood trees.
