Given that the DRC doesnt have a lot of tourism like other neighboring countries, this might be the cheapest gorilla visit you will find. Still this means $400 per person if you are not a DRC resident. The visit includes a security briefing and a small story about the gorillas that live there and then you go for a walk... More

My husband and I decided to visit the D.R. of the Congo specifically to see the Eastern Lowland Gorillas at the end of June 2016 and we are very glad we did so. We decided to do two treks to see them since we had come so far, and are very glad we did. The drive from Bukavu was pleasant... More

Another of our 3 adventures in Rwanda, Uganda, DR Congo. A rugged 4 wheeling adventure, then a hike in the jungle, then Gorillas. An entire family of 23, I think we say at least 15 including babies, mamas and Alpha Male Silverback. A terrific adventure in this park

The experience surpassed any and all expectations. We visited the park after having visited Virunga National Park & seen the gorillas there for the first time. We obtained a 10 day visitor visa with no problem directly thru Virunga. We flew from Nairobi to Kigali in Rwanda & then hired a driver recommended by Virunga who arranged picked up at... More

I feel incredibly lucky to have had the opportunity to visit Kahuzi Biega as part of my work for a brief time in the Congo. It's a beautiful area with mountains and views of lovely lake Kivu. And the time we were able to spend watching the sweet gorilla family, lead by silverback Chimanuka was just amazing. They were so... More

We started the walk at around 9.30 a.m. the guides were french speaking but i think there are some english speaking guides too. First we got a really good briefing about the park. Here you could already notice that the rangers love their jobs and really care for the gorillas. After 1hour in the jungle we saw the first gorilla... More

Bukavu and Kahuzi-Biega is very safe for tourism. Beautiful view of lake kivu, short distance to the lowland gorillas. Good begin to compare gorilla similarities.

I would advise all tourists in the region to come and visit the Kahuzi Biega National Park. This place is unique, just one hour and half drving from Bukavu. The rangers are very dedicated and professionnal as they are in the Virunga National Park in North Kivu but in Kahuzi Biega they receive fewer visits... If you want to arrange... More

The eastern lowland mountain gorillas in the park are well managed and visiting them was facilitated through Coco Lodge in Bukavu who were wonderful to deal with. If you're in South Kivu for a weekend then I recommend the experience of visiting the gorillas in their own habitat.

This is to say about the trekking of Low Land Gorillas in Kahuzi Biega National Park in Southern Kivu Province, which is a perfect experience like the same when trekking Mountain Gorillas in the volcanoes parks. In Cross-Stone Tours we often bring tourists there in our itinerary from Nyiragongo volcano in Nothern Kivu Province to Kahuzi. By picture you could... More
