This is the first state park in Illinois and has some great history. In October of every year they have a weekend where they perform an encampment.

Very surprised and pleased, beautiful park. Nice campground, sites are large, so refreshing as so many campgrounds are cramped. Looks like a great place to visit and stay.

There is a fort you can walk around and see with a good view of the Ohio River. It is very educational.

Nice walkways. Great museum with good help. They had events for the children. Even though there were lots of visitors during the eclipse...the grounds were spotless AND the trash cans were empty!

The museum is great. This is a wonderful park/ fort. It is very interesting and informative. They seem to host a lot of events throughout the year, which makes a return trip an easy decision. Definitely recommend if you are in the area.
