Lewis and Clark spent a cold winter here before starting their historic journey to the west coast. My favorite display is the life-size boat carefully packed with the necessary gear and provisions. In my imagination, I can see the crew using oars in deep water,...More

This is a great museum with lot of artifacts exhibited. The artifacts show the lifestyle of expeditionary crews during the westward expansion. The museum, and the short film it has are really good and very informative. Go little bit north of this museum and you...More

I struggled with rating this. Given an absence of funding, this interpretive center is being kept alive by volunteers. They're obviously doing a great job,and they're friendly and informed. I salute them. The interpretive center includes a cut-away reconstruction of a keelboat, and it's fascinating...More

I guess I had a shortage of American History in school. I found this terrific museum very informative and interesting. We spent a good hour - an hour and a half here. The staff kindly gave us a tour of the "log cabin" on the...More

This state-run museum is a must -see if you care at all about the Corps of Discovery. The many exhibits bring the expeditionary force alive and the full-size keel boat is an outstanding depiction of what the explorers had to work with. The boat is...More

I would definitely recommend checking this place out if you are into history, which I am. Kids and adults alike could learn a lot here, and it's fun too.

We went there because they had a bird festival there and we did not know what to expect. However, turns out it had much to offer. It helped my children to see how rivers fueled expeditions and why natural marvels, as being in a real...More

My kids and I loved this site. The state did a great job with explaining, describing, interpreting, and teaching us about the very beginning for our great explorers, Lewis and Clark. The kids had a great time with all the activities in the one room...More

My friend wanted to do a day trip with her grandchildren so we went to the center this am. I thought the 15 minute film was very good. The volunteer was very helpful & we signed in. It's a great place for Lewis & Clark...More

We visited with 2 grandsons & they loved it. As a teacher, I enjoyed the fact that they could touch and read information readily. They enjoyed searching for objects. The keel boat size was a "wow" moment. We went in the house & saw the...More
