You'll never forget your first sight of Blickling. Sitting in a magnificent garden and park is a breath-taking mansion, flanked by ancient yew hedges. Past owners have used the estate as a refuge while performing on the world's political stage. Philip Kerr, the last private owner, helped shaped the National Trust's history, using his influence to find a way of saving great country houses for future generations to enjoy. Until his death in 1940 he used the house for entertaining his prominent guests; and photographs, sounds and objects help to tell his story. Outside, the formal garden is the result of three centuries of inspired planting, and the gently undulating historic parkland is great for exploring.

Hadn't been here for years, and it was lovely to see the place again. We got parked and had a cup of coffee in the cafe near the car park. Then walked round to the house, which is always wonderful as you walk between the wings. House is very well maintained and the stewards are all well informed. We didn't... More

Took a 93 year old mum to see Blickling house and the surroundings. Have been many times before and it's always a pleasure to see the house and gardens.

Good place, building sensational and gardens beautiful. Just not sure at all at the fifteen pounds. Not nearly enough to fill a full day that you couldn't do for free. Walking the perimeter fence would be just as good to look at. Understood we need to preserve history so not a major criticism.

Very interesting day at Blickling Hall. The house is very well maintained and beautiful inside and out. Nice food in the restaurant much of which was homemade.

We made our first visit to blickling today.. what a beautiful place. We started our day with coffee at the entrance coffee shop followed by the orange walk. What a lovely walk so relaxing. Just over the 4 mile mark not to much effort needed. We then visited the house.. amazing. The staff were lovely and on hand if you... More

It is great to hear that you found your visit to Blickling was value for money; as you say, there is plenty to do in the house and gardens as well as relaxing walks through our bluebell woods. Catering is very difficult to get right, as it is important to us that food is not wasted, so we’re afraid that... More

We visited over the easter weekend. The house looked stunning as you approach it. Inside it is very typical trust layout with all the light filter blinds down so quite dark but still nice to wander round. The real gem here is the grounds. Loads of walks to do depending on how far you want to go some just go... More

Hard to give a balanced review as we only went for the Easter egg hunt/trail with nieces and nephew in tow so I feel an 'average' review is best for now. No complaints about finding it or parking (which thankfully was free on the day) but they had run out of eggs by the time we got there at 12.30pm,... More

We are so sorry that you and your children were disappointed by the lack of Easter bunnies. We did have more visitors than expected over the Easter weekend, and unfortunately we were limited by our suppliers as to the number of bunnies we were allowed! We are looking into this urgently to try to make sure that it does not... More

This review is not about Blickling Hall or the gardens which are as always pretty jolly good, but rather, about the main café/restaurant in the east wing. We go to Blickling a lot, often just to walk in the garden and smoke a little Havana. We never go to the main café on a holiday weekend because the café queue... More

My husband, 9 month old and I went to Blickling Hall for Easter. We took part in the egg hunt, which gave us a great opportunity to really explore the gardens. We also went inside the house, very helpful and knowledgeable staff members. I would love to go again, as it is such a beautiful estate. The only downside to... More

This is a beautiful place to visit, especially if you like history. Anne Boleyn was born here and there is plenty to learn. The house and gardens are vast so allow plenty of time if you want to see everything. As it was Easter weekend, there was also an Easter egg hunt for the children. There are eating and drinking...
