You'll never forget your first sight of Blickling. Sitting in a magnificent garden and park is a breath-taking mansion, flanked by ancient yew hedges. Past owners have used the estate as a refuge while performing on the world's political stage...more

The visited on a lovely sunny day. The house itself is lovely but our visit was somewhat tainted by the ‘art installations’ that were dotted around the house for ‘The Word Defiant’. I felt that this detracted from the main purpose of our visit and...More

Thank you for your feedback. The thought-provoking artworks respond to the threats posed to the written word and what books mean to people today. Through this project we hope to raise funds to support the vital conservation work that’s needed in Blickling’s Long Gallery and...More

We are National Trust members so decided to try Blickling Estate. The house is beautiful with some very knowledgeable volunteers who can provide additional information/answer questions. The current art installation is amazing and adds to the overall experience. Unfortunately the weather was awful so we...More

Having enjoyed two visits recently, once to see the magnificent bluebells mingling with the wild garlic and again yesterday to have a leisurely stroll in the gardens and round the lake. The garden looks particularly colourful at this time of the year and is a...More

Thank you for letting us know how much you enjoyed our gardens. They certainly look lovely at this time of year, both in the woods with the bluebells and in the more formal gardens where the wisteria is in full bloom, as are the azaleas...More

Two of us arrived on an overcast and chilly day. It’s a National Trust property and so free to enter if you are a member. If not then charges (based on a 3+ hour visit) are reasonable, in my opinion, as the costs of upkeep...More

Unless you are a National Trust member it's very expensive so I didn't go round the house. I had actually gone to see an exhibition in the Loft Gallery. The grounds and gardens are worth a visit in their own right. Cafes, second-hand book shop,...More

With a library of over 12,500 books, it is clear why this estate is so valuable to the National Trust. A wonderful potted history of a house which has not had an owner since 1940. Take your time and wander the gardens as well.
