The Galesburg Railroad Museum tells the story of a major Midwest railroad crossroads. The museum has primarily donations from people who worked for or were associated with the railroad. It does a nice job of telling what life and work were like way back when....More

This small indoor museum amounts to an odd collection of not that interesting old donated railroad related items pulled out people's attics. It took me 10 minutes at most to view the assortment of antiques. The highlight of this museum are a few old railroad...More

I visited the museum during the Galesburg Railroad Days. Big crowds, BNSF display engine, and plenty for rail traffic. You can get in the cab of the steam engine and several of the display cars.

We started out from Galesburg, Illinois on our first Amtrak train ride to Winslow, AZ. But with time to spare we checked this out. Very interesting and educational. Glad we had some extra time to take this in.

Even though we are retired railroaders we like the museum because it was put together by railroaders with feeling and respect to The R.R.

Great local museum showing many historical things related to the railroads in our area. Be sure to take the passenger car tour.

The engine, mail car, pullman car, and caboose are well worth the visit. We are a big 'visit RR museum' family, and we learned new things and especially enjoyed the mail car. The temperature was blistering (90+) but the uniqueness of the cars made the...More
