I will make it simple - do not check whether the winter was rainy and whether there are waterfalls or not. It doesn't matter, because it is wonderful even without them. Trust me! The path of the watermills, leading to the gorge is wonderful! Remnants of watermills, nature, greenery, birds, gorge, the experience... priceless! Put your sneakers and follow the... More

Unfortunately the waterfalls were a big disappointment for us, since the long term drought restricted the amount of water, making this remarkable landmark of the island a real swamp! No water falls of the rocks and the lake without any flow, full of leaves, mud and insects... It is a pity, because the whole scenery is magnificent and the nearby... More

The well marked trail winds down the side of the old river valley. The thick canopy of trees offers welcome shade on a hot Greek day. Sadly, due to an extremely dry winter on Kythira, the beautiful pools at the bottom of the valley are not swimmable this year. But the lovely, stone water mills are worth visiting and offer... More

On the mainland of Kythira, in the village of Mylopotamos, you can find that exceptional beauty, of that waterfall. Normally you can swim in the lake that is created by the waterfall, if the winter season was rainy. In case of dry winter seasons , there is not a waterfall during summertime, just a still water swamp created by the... More

We did the circular walk which included the mills and waterfalls. Unfortunately due to a dry winter they was no water falling. A lovely walk, sturdy shoes are needed plus take water with you. Takes about 2 hours, some in shade and some not. You can walk further up the gorge and then come back so would be longer. Well... More

A nice, serene spot that is very peaceful. Not really something I would have expected to find but it's a very nice spot that is somewhat off the beaten path and not especially busy. Which I think is actually good as it lends to the overall chill feel of the waterfalls.

Very beautiful landscape just a few minutes walk of Mylopotamos village. I didn't really believe there could actually be a waterfall, because the river seemed dry but fortunately I was wrong! I wish I had my swimsuit with me so I could swim in the cold water.

Great place to visit! Beautiful nature and clean water to swim!! You should avoid wearing sandals in order to feel safer when you walk. There are also signs to guide you all the way through!

Really beautiful landscape at Mylopotamos village. When you arrive at the center of the village, you will find a sign showing the start of the path towards the waterfalls. In about 20 minutes walking you will find the first waterfalls creating a small lake-pool with crystal-clean water. Do not hesitate, just jump in the water! Its an amazing experience. The... More
