Assuming you like history, since you are visiting Galena, you have to stop here. Informative, fun for the kids, stories told by the reenactors, and a little gift area.

Free, but worth much more. Lovely volunteers, ours was Brian, explain the history and then the whole process of blacksmithing. Authentic, original furnace etc. Gorgeous gifts made by the current blacksmiths. Don't miss this one!

This is especially great for kids to learn more about a skill that was commonplace in our history. The volunteers that man the shop are friendly and knowledgable.

We stopped here during our walking tour and found the blacksmith very good. He demonstrated how he worked with steel and made several items. Donation was suggested by a post sign but not asked for by the blacksmith.
