We were going to take the grandkids to Galena for the day and we thought that we would take them on the Mississippi Explorer River Boat Cruise. When we were trying to book a time, we saw this on their website: "We are out of...More

Captain Bob and Karla piloted a lovely, peaceful yet exciting 1 and 1/2 hour cruise on July 9 starting at 10:30. My son and I liked it very much. Both of the guides obviously love the river and wildlife as well as being enthusiastic and...More

Not what I expected as the ride was an old pontoon with limited views in the covered part unless you stood up and faced the outside of the boat. Reason being, the bench seats face the inside of the boat. If you're lucky enough to...More

I hate to give a review with only 2 stars, but I'm just not sure why anyone would pay for this. You ride on a pontoon boat and a guy tells you the few things he knows about the area for 1 1/2 hours. I...More

What a disappointment and rip off!!!! Charged QE2 prices for a boat that has had a hard life - public areas furniture chipped, stained carpets. Decor was quite dated for a boat refurbished in 2012. This was not a luxury boat by any stretch of...More

The cabins were filthy, the food ineatable, the wines the cheapest and all of this at Silverseas,Orient Express prices. This is someone's "Cash Cow" as the comfort and well being of the passengers is never considered. Shame on this cruise line for charging top dollar...More

I gave 4 stars because of the overall experience of being on a pontoon boat, on the Mississippi for the first time. I will concur with some of the reviews that the narration could use some polish, HOWEVER, I didn't go on the boat to...More

On Oct 12, 2014, my wife and I took this cruise. To say that we were disappointed is to phrase it mildly. The view from the resort is awesome, the tram ride was nice but the cruise itself proved to be a travesty. The "pilot"...More

The cruise was wonderful, very informative and educational. The captain was an expert on the history of the river travel & the area wildlife. The narrator was a biologist expert on the river animals and their habitat. They complimented each other well & answered traveler's...More

Our family took the 6pm your on a hot muggy late afternoon. We have preteens that enjoyed the wildlife we saw but said other than that they were bored. Wish there were more interesting facts or stories given by crew. This would be wonderful for...More

No, it is not wheelchair accessible. You have to ride a slide or a ski lift to get down to the river and a ski lift to get back up to the resort. Additionally, there is no ramp to get on the boat.
