A nice and green park in the center of the city with good displays and lot of free area to stroll. Access is easy and is not very crowded. It has some military equipment on display along with a statue of Grant.

We used the park most often after dinner to walk off a few calories in the cool of the evening...walking along the levee taking in the sights in town. However, it is also worth taking a spin around the cannon and monuments.

After being on crowded main street this is a nice break. Has lots of history and the kids liked all the cannons. A nice place to relax and take in the view. Lots of benches and very well taken care of.

Take the pedestrian bridge over the river into the park. You will see Grant's statue and the cannon that fired the first shot of the Civil War. Nice views and pleasant walk.

This park has great views of the town. There are plenty of benches to sit, many are in shade. The VFW has done a great job of obtaining and preserving cannon from the various wars. There are informative historical markers with information about the town...More
